GFA’s disciplinary committee throws out case against Fabulous Ladies

The newly formed five-member Disciplinary Committee of the GFA, has thrown out a case brought against Fabulous ladies by Ashtown Ladies.

Ashtown ladies after their goalless draw with Fabulous Ladies on match day one of the Normalization Committee’s Special Competition for Women, challenged the eligibility of Alice Kusi, a player for Fabulous ladies.

They alleged that the player was not duly registered to have played against them and, thus, requested that the Disciplinary Committee declares them winners of the match, awarding them the three points with three goals.

The Samson Lardy Anyenini- led Disciplinary Committee, after deliberating on the matter, threw out the case describing it as “procedurally challenged and not compliance with Article 37(3) of the GFA General regulations.”

The Committee also ruled that Ashtown ladies did not back their claims with proper documentary evidence.

The Disciplinary Committee thus dismissed the protest on the grounds of it being frivolous, incompetent and unmeritorious.

Ashtown Ladies were further finned an amount of GHS 1,000.00.

The Appeals Committee was formed together with the Disciplinary Committee, meaning, Ashtown Ladies can call for an appeal on the decisions of the Disciplinary Committee if they wish to do so.
