Veteran Football Administrator, Kofi Manu has declared the roadmap issued by the Ghana Football Association(GFA) ahead of it’s elections as unconstitutional.
The road map was made public on 3rd August.
The GFA Presidential and Executive Council positions are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
The position of the GFA presidency would be contested by two aspirants, Mr. George Afriyie who was a former vice president and the incumbent, Kurt E.S Okraku.
Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports, he stated that, the guidelines and road map which was let out by the GFA prior to the 2023 GFA elections is unconstitutional.
“The road map is unconstitutional because it does not meet the requirements of the statutes. There’s nowhere in the statutes that deals with the elective congress. Article 25 of the statutes talk about the congress, which is the meeting at which all members of the GFA regularly convene. It represents the supreme and legislative authority of the GFA. Only at a congress that is duly convened has the authority to make decisions”.
