GBA lifts ban on Richard Commey

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has lifted the ban imposed on former IBF World Champion Richard Commey.

The Ghanaian boxer was banned for showing gross misconduct and indiscipline towards the association earlier this year.

Commey granted an interview with a TV station in the USA where he made false allegations against officials of the GBA, according to a statement from the boxing authority. This led to a two-year ban imposed on the boxer.

In the statement released by the GBA, after consultations with stakeholders and a plea from the overload of the Ga state the ban has been lifted with immediate effect.
