The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has suspended its strike, effective Monday, October 14, 2024.
In a recently released statement, the council expressed its willingness to engage in meaningful discussions with the government regarding unresolved concerns about conditions of service.
The association aims to reach a mutually beneficial agreement with the government, which is expected to provide an appropriate platform for discussions within three weeks, as outlined in a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between the government and the GAUA.
“It is our hope that the government will demonstrate good faith and arrange for deliberations within three weeks over the issues included in the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed on October 7, 2024,” the statement reads.
The statement, signed by Michael Owusu Ansah, President of the Ghana Association of University Administrators, and Augustine Amissare, General Secretary, calls on all members and affiliated bodies to adhere to this latest directive.
