Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has urged University students to hold politicians accountable for their actions and inactions.
Speaking at the annual National Union of Graduate students (NUGS) conference, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said the students union should have “an enlightened position” on the fight against galamsey, stressing on the need for students’ fronts to succeed in their advocacy.
According to him, “ No politician would come up with a policy that would make him loose the vote of the people he wants to represent”, .
He stated that, he is not against mining “I am 100 percent for mining, God gave us the gold for us to use it to enhance our value, so we must have responsible mining”.
