Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), Bawa Fuseini has expressed his unwavering optimism and ambition as he prepares to contest the upcoming presidential elections of the athletic regulatory body.

The 2023 quadrennial elective congress of Ghana Athletics has been officially scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 10, at Techiman in the Bono region, as announced by the GA Executive Board.

The Congress will play a crucial role in electing new leaders to steer the future of athletics in the country. Six key positions, including President, First Vice President, Second Vice President (Female), Treasurer, Organizing Secretary, and a Deputy Organising Secretary, will be up for contention.

Among the aspirants for the presidential seat is Bawa Fuseini, who is the current CEO of Ghana Athletics and a prominent figure in the national sports scene.

In an exclusive interview on Happy Sports, Fuseini expressed his eagerness to advance the development of athletics in the country, backed by his strong determination and the potential he sees in the association.

“I have the ambition to move forward, and the prospects are also very high. We’ve worked hard to acquire contacts locally and internationally so that when we take the position, the work would be much easier, so I’m very optimistic,” Fuseini confidently stated His optimism and vision for the future of Ghana Athletics have resonated well with athletes, coaches, and stakeholders alike, who view him as a promising candidate for the top position in the local athletics regulatory body.
