Great Olympics head coach, Bismark Kobi Mensah, says the team goes into the Ga Mashie derby as underdogs against city rivals Hearts of Oak in match day 19 of the 2022–23 Ghana Premier League.
The ‘Oly dade boys’ are without a win in their last three games in the Ghana Premier League.
Olympics, however, have the better head-to-head stats going into this game as they are undefeated in their last four meetings against Hearts of Oak.
Bismark Kobi Mensah who was recently appointed Olympics head coach, said, despite the team’s poor run of form in the league, they will aim for a good result against Hearts of Oak.
Speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s Wamputu Sports with Joe Debrah, he said,
“We haven’t gotten the best of preparation because I had just five days of training with them and a new coach has come.”
“The Olympics have also gone three games without a win or the necessary results. When a team goes several games without a win, their confidence suffers. We are going into this game as underdogs, but at the end of the day, it’s not an excuse, and the team wants to win.
“We want to get a good result in this game,” he added.
After match week 13, Olympics is ranked 13th in the league with 23 points.
