FULL CIRCLE: Happy FM Valentine Mass Wedding Beneficiary Returns as Sponsor for 20th Anniversary Edition

Mabel-Charway, CEO of ‘Your Chicken and Chips,’ is an example of the impact of Happy FM’s Mass Wedding initiative. As a beneficiary of the program in 2011, Mabel Charway has come full circle, returning as a sponsor for the 20th edition of the Happy FM Valentine Mass Wedding this year.

In an interview on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben, Mabel Charway shared her heartwarming story of how the initiative brought her and her husband together. “I took part in the Mass Wedding in 2011, and it was an incredible experience,” she recounted. “Happy FM covered everything, from the gown to the food, and even the events ground. They gave us virtually everything.”

Mabel-Charway’s testimony shows the initiative’s success. She and her husband have been married for 14 years, and she attributes their strong bond to the solid foundation laid during the Mass Wedding ceremony. “My husband and I are still together, and it’s been a beautiful journey,” she said. “It’s not all rosy, but it’s been good. I’m grateful to Happy FM for making our wedding day so special.”

As a token of appreciation, Mabel Charway has decided to give back by sponsoring this year’s Mass Wedding ceremony. Her brand, Your Chicken and Chips, will cater for a minimum of 150 to 200 guests.

Mabel Charway’s husband first heard about the Mass Wedding on radio, and they decided to participate. “The price at the time was about Ghs 100-200 and everything was taken care of. This included the gown, marriage registration, counselling, makeup, and hair, hotel, and car to the venue,” she recalled.

“I know how much it costs to put an event like Mass Wedding together, and I’m here to support in my own way,” Mabel-Charway said. “I encourage everyone to participate in Mass Wedding. I’m a legally married woman because I signed at the court, and I’m here to appreciate Happy FM for this initiative.”

Happy FM’s Mass Wedding initiative has not only united couples but has also provided them with a platform to start their new life together. The station’s commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of its listeners is evident in this initiative, which has become a cornerstone of its community development programs.

Since its inception, the initiative has brought together over 600 couples, providing them with a memorable and stress-free wedding experience. This year marks the 20th edition of the Happy Valentine Mass Wedding, and Mabel Charway is proud to be a part of it.

The initiative has also had a ripple effect on the local economy, benefiting vendors such as designers, caterers, decorators, photographers, and plush venues. Over the years, the Mass Wedding has featured various themes, including church weddings, garden weddings, and Afrocentric themes, among others.
