The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has named Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Frimpong Manso, as the new head coach of the Black Starlets, Ghana’s U17 national team.
Frimpong Manso succeeds Laryea Kingston, who vacated the position during the qualifiers for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
A seasoned tactician, Frimpong Manso brings a wealth of experience and a strong coaching pedigree to the role.
Over the years, he has managed several top-tier clubs, including Stade d’Abidjan, Asante Kotoko, Karela United, B.A. United, Medeama SC (formerly Kessben FC), and Nkoranza Warriors. He is currently at the helm of Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League.
Renowned for his knack for identifying and nurturing young talents, Frimpong Manso has a proven track record in youth development. His prior experience includes serving as head coach of the Black Starlets from 2009 to 2010, after an earlier stint as the team’s assistant coach. He also served as the assistant coach for the Black Meteors, Ghana’s U23 national team, from 2006 to 2008.
Frimpong Manso holds a CAF Licence A Coaching Certificate, showcasing his advanced coaching expertise. His appointment is expected to boost the Black Starlets’ preparations and prospects for future international competitions.
To ensure continuity, Nana Kweku Agyemang and Jacob Nettey have been retained as assistant coaches, reinforcing the team’s technical setup as they aim for success on the international stage.
