Members of the Concerned Citizens against galamsey are continuing their three day protest against illegal mining.

The demonstration, which is set to run until October 5 began on Thursday October 3 and aims to draw attention to ongoing galamsey activities which have and continue to cause devastating damages to the country’s environment and water bodies, and also for the release of arrested democracy Hub protesters.

The demonstration which is a day long event each day began at the Okponglo bus stop in Accra will end at the car park of the Accra Sports Stadium.

They submitted a petition to the Attorney General to free detained protestors and end their prosecution on the first day of protests.

On day 2, they will submit a petition to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources as they urge him to put an end to galamsey.
