Deputy Minister of Education Designate, Dr. Clement Apaak, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, emphasizing that the initiative is here to stay.
He urged parents and guardians to take full advantage of the policy to ensure their children receive education.
Speaking during his vetting before the Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, Dr. Apaak stressed the importance of education in shaping responsible adults.
He particularly highlighted the need to support the education of the girl child, noting that in today’s world, women can excel just as much as men, if not better.
“I encourage all parents to send their children to school, especially the girl child so they can become responsible adults in the society,” he stated.
Dr. Apaak’s assurance comes amid ongoing discussions about the sustainability and effectiveness of the policy.
With this renewed commitment from the government, parents are encouraged to prioritize their children’s education, leveraging the Free SHS policy to secure a better future for the next generation.
