Former Gender Minister gives health Minister 7 days ultimatum to conclude investigation into Gomoa Ojobi incident

The former Minister for Gender, Children and social protection, Otiko Djaba has given health Minister Bernard Oko boye seven days to conclude investigations into alleged abandonment of a patient in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region by Hospital staff at Trauma and specialised hospital in Winneba.

According to her, it shouldn’t take Thirty days to investigate into this matter because the woman died out of negligence and is a treat to National security.

In an interview with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9 morning show, the Former Minister said the woman would have stayed alive if she were to be at the Hospital. According to her, the hospital should be sued for the manner they handled the woman leading to her death.

“This is an atrocity, irresponsible act, there is no excuse and the system has failed the woman from ministry of health and Gender, Ghana medical association, trauma hospital, chiefs, ambulance driver to the entire Gomoa Ojobi township”.

“It is the responsibility of the hospital to ensure that her best interest is taken care of from the point of admitting her and releasing her to her destination should be safe and healthy, the hospital should stop telling us rubbish for even hiding the identity or the name of the woman”.

She therefore urge the Ministry of Health to publish the results publicly after the investigation for those involved to be punished.
