Football management does not require a degree- Alhaji Grusah

Founder and bank roller of Kumasi based King Faisal FC, Alhaji Karim Grusah, has sent a strong word of caution to all members of Normalization Committee who intend to disqualify anyone who does not have a master’s degree from contesting for the GFA seat.

The outspoken football guru, had earlier indicated that he is ready to lead the football association when the dust finally settles.
“I will contest for the FA PRESIDENCY after the reforms to put proper measures and structures in place to move Ghana football forward have been implemented”

But his dream of leading the fraternity might not see light of day if the Normalization Committee goes ahead to accept the recommendation from one of the ad hoc committees of making it a MUST for the next GFA president to have a master’s degree.

In an interview with Ohene Bampoe–Brenya on Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’, the controversial football administrator lamented
“99.9 percent of club owners don’t have a degree but they employ people and pay them. We should rather be focusing on getting someone who can help and develop the game, not a thief with a degree. Those who steal in this country are degree holders.”

“I want to know if it is ad hoc committee that brought this proposal then I will address all the members one by one. They should publish their degrees for us to see .We have lawyers and a Doctor currently managing our football but what have they done so far? What have they achieved with their degrees?

“This proposal won’t see daylight. It won’t help anyone. But we are waiting for them to bring the proposal to Congress”

Football activities in Ghana have been halted following investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12 Exposé, where some GFA executives including the former President, Kwesi Nyantakyi were caught on video, allegedly taking bribes.

Alhaji Karim Grusah together with five others have so far expressed their intention to contest for the GFA presidency when nominations are opened by the Normalization Committee.
