President John Dramani Mahama has tasked the 19-member task force established to oversee the implementation of the 120-Day Social Contract to focus and work hard to achieve the mandate given them by the Ghanaian people.
Addressing the task force during their inauguration, President Mahama charged them to work assiduously towards the mandate, emphasizing that the success of the government’s 120-Day Contract depends on the sectors they head.
“As part of our social contract with the people of Ghana, for which they gave us this massive mandate, we came up with a 120-day plan that outlines what we intend to achieve within this period. This meeting is to focus on sector-specific issues and ensure that we meet our targets”.
Among the notable initiatives outlined in the 120-day plan are the removal and rationalization of some taxes, such as the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) and Betting Tax, as well as the organization of a National Economic Forum to address economic challenges and chart a path for sustainable growth.
President Mahama emphasized the importance of teamwork and sectoral focus, urging the ministers to work closely with Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs, to ensure that the objectives of the plan are met.
“All of you should focus on your sectors and work diligently to achieve the targets we set for ourselves in the 120-day plan”.
