Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has pointed out government initiatives that have put money into the pockets of citizens.

Presenting the 2020 annual budget before parliament, he mentioned that to reduce the suffering of the unemployed, over 350,000 people have been recruited in the public sector. These including teachers, security services, nurses, NABCO, forestry and many others.

He said, ‘’Mr, Speaker, from 2017 to date, these interventions by Government have put at least GHC12.2 billion in the pockets of Ghanaians’’.

Furthering on the achievements of the Free Senior High School policy, he observed, ‘’Free SHS has saved parents a total of GHC1.8 billion over the last three years and that is money in their pockets’’.

Mr. Ofori-Atta went on to talk about the Planting for Food and Jobs and how that has put money in pockets.
