The Attorney General’s Department has given the nod to the Sunyani divisional crime officer, DSP Kingsley Wiredu, to arraign Sergeant Baffour Awuah also known as Bantama before the court for physically assaulting Theresa Bremansu FIFA certified referee.
Bantama assaulted referee Bremansu in a semifinals game during Just ended Normalization Committee Women’s Competition which saw Prisons lose 1-0 at home to Ampem Darkoa on April 7.
Referee Bremansu officiated the match between Prison ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies in Sunyani, Amy park of which Ampem Darkoa won by 1 goal to nil.
The date for the court hearing has not been set yet but Sergeant Awuah has signed a bond of good behaviour for his uncouth action.
