FDA speaks on Hajia Bintu’s Kayamta advert video

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has reacted to the viral video where social media influencer Hajia Bintu was seen advertising unapproved medicines for public consumption.

The growing trend of celebrities advertising sexual and body enhancements products has generated a lot of reactions from the public who are calling on the FDA to intervene.

However, the FDA has stated that they have no jurisdiction to regulate products which make spiritual claims.

FDA’s reaction on X came on the back of public inquiries regarding ‘kayamata,’ a product marketed for its alleged ability to charm men into doing the bidding of women as advertised by influencer Hajia Bintu.

“Per the law, the FDA is not mandated to oversee products that make spiritual claims,” the official X handle of FDA posted while reacting to the video of Hajia Bintu.
