Ghana and Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying game against Angola on Friday.

The winger was replaced at halftime in Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) penultimate game against Angola.

Issahaku landed awkwardly after an aerial duel in the first half of Ghana’s qualifying game, and although he injured himself, Issahaku tried to shake off the challenge, playing through the pain and completing the first half.

Issahaku, who is playing in his maiden Premier League season with Leicester City, took to his Instagram to provide an update on his fitness after undergoing a successful surgery.

“My surgery was successful, and I just want to tell you that I am okay and I am feeling good after the surgery. I want to thank everyone for the best wishes,” he wrote.

The 20-year-old has provided two assists for the Foxes across 11 Premier League games and will be a big blow for Leicester City, who were relying heavily on the winger to find his feet in the league.
