Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, has said that every coach should be ready for the sack if things are not going on well.
According to him, the coaching job also comes with a lot of criticisms and every coach must be ready for it.
Kwesi Appiah has come under a lot of criticisms in recent times especially after Ghana’s early exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Black Stars exited the tournament after losing on penalties to Tunisia in the Round of 16.
Speaking in an interview with Happy FM , he said “In this job you should be prepared to be fired at any time if things are not going well. You don’t expect everyone to praise you. So you have to be committed to the job and give your best”.
“People will always criticize you even if you do well or not, this even strengthens you. Always you have to take the positives out of the criticisms and improve upon it”, he stated.
He further said, “There are some people who are jealous. If you doing well you will be praised but if things don’t go well, they will chastise you”.
“Others too are not happy because you didn’t call their players”, he concluded.
Kwesi Appiah’s contract as Black Stars coach runs out in December 2019 and there has been talks he may earn a contract extension following the Stars win in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa and Sao Tome.
