The Presiding Officer for Opera Cinema Polling Station NO. 1 in the Odododiodio constituency, Jude Ashong-Katai, has expressed concern over low voter turnout at the station, describing it as disappointing.
According to him, the number of people who have voted so far falls far below expectations, with only a few hours left until the polls close.
In an exclusive interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s reporter, Nana Antwi Boasiako, Mr. Ashong-Katai revealed that the station anticipated about 74 voters. However, with less than two hours to wrap up the voting process, they had not even reached half of the expected number.
Despite the low turnout, Mr. Ashong-Katai commended the security personnel stationed at the polling center for their exemplary work in maintaining order and ensuring a smooth and peaceful voting process.
He also made a passionate appeal to eligible voters in the area, urging them to exercise their civic responsibility by showing up to vote before the polls close.
