The Deputy Spokesperson for the John Mahama Campaign, Beatrice Annan, has stressed that while Ghanaians are enduring severe hardship, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues to campaign as though everything is fine, simply because their leaders are not directly feeling the pain.
She pointed out that the NPP government’s mismanagement of the economy has created widespread hardship for ordinary Ghanaians, yet the leaders remain insulated from these struggles. According to her, government officials enjoy numerous perks, including free cars with fuel, government-provided housing, and per-diem, which shield them from the daily challenges faced by the average citizen.
She also referenced the former Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, whose stolen money was partly categorized as per-diem and allowances, underscoring how government officials’ financial privileges further disconnect them from the realities of ordinary Ghanaians.
Beatrice Annan urges the electorate to support John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 elections, emphasizing that Mahama is the leader best positioned to rescue Ghana from the current economic crisis.
