Election 2024: Ghana’s Import duties won’t be higher than Togo’s- Dr. Bawumia

Dr. Bawumia seeks support from security personnel and journalists ahead of special voting exercise

Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reaffirmed his commitment on the introduction of a flat rate policy to assist importers.

According to him, the flat rate policy will help importers who are unable to import goods due to the high rate of import duties.

‘’Import duties disturb our importers a lot, hence the introduction of my flat rate policy.’’

Speaking at his community connect campaign trail in Atwima Mponua constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia announced that, the flat rate import duties for traders will drastically reduce import duties at the port.

He mentioned that, this policy will not be higher than the Togo import duties.

‘’we will have new policy which is, Ghana’s import duties will not be higher than Togo import duty, it will be the same or lower than Togo import duty, that will help us’’.
