Election 2024: Bawumia challenges Mahama to name his achievements

Bawumia replies Mahama with fifty (50) questions

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to highlight his key accomplishments during his presidency.

Speaking at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East Constituency on Monday September 23 as part of his ‘Bawumia Community Connect’ initiative, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that Ghanaians should not be swayed to vote for Mahama and the NDC, citing their poor economic management and infamous “Dumsor” electricity crisis during their tenure.

Dr. Bawumia proudly listed the NPP’s achievements since taking office in 2016, including Free Senior High School (SHS) education, free Technical and Vocational Education, the introduction of the Ghana Card, payment of Teacher and Nursing Trainee Allowances, and the One Constituency, One Ambulance initiative. In contrast, Dr. Bawumia criticized the NDC’s lack of meaningful initiatives, dismissing their “24-hour night club” and “Nkoko nkitinki” proposals as unproductive.

Looking ahead, Dr. Bawumia pledged to implement innovative policies. He plans to introduce a Credit System, allowing individuals to purchase items on credit with installment payments, similar to practices in other parts of the world. Additionally, he aims to import solar panels to boost the electricity sector, reducing electricity bills by 50% and easing the financial burden on Ghanaians. These initiatives aim to boost economic growth, job creation, and overall well-being of Ghanaians.
