#EjisuDecides: Electoral Commission Removes Two Employees Due to Bribery Claims

The Electoral Commission (EC) has taken action against two temporary staff members by dismissing them from their duties at the ongoing Ejisu by-election at the Fumesua Pentecost Church polling station. This follows allegations of bribery, according to an official statement.

The decision was prompted by a video circulating on social media on Tuesday (April 30) that appeared to depict the alleged incident.

The EC has launched an investigation into the matter and plans to release a report to the public once it’s complete.

The EC’s statement mentioned, “The Commission’s attention has been brought to a video circulating on social media depicting one of the Polling Stations at the ongoing Ejisu Constituency by-elections.

The polling station has been identified as Fumesua Pentecost Church polling station with polling station code F311503.” It further added, “The video shows a gentleman approaching the table and dropping an envelope on the table manned by the presiding officer and ballot issuer.”

The EC emphasized its swift action, stating, “The Electoral Commission has taken immediate steps and has withdrawn the temporary staff while investigations take place.”
