The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has issued an urgent statement requesting customers using Nuri Prepaid Meters, to load sufficient credit to last at least one month.
This precautionary measure according to ECG is necessary to avoid potential vending disruptions during an ongoing upgrade to the Standard Transfer Specifications (STS) metering systems, which include the Nuri Prepayment system.
In a statement issued on Sunday November 24, 2024, ECG emphasized the importance of the upgrade in maintaining uninterrupted vending services for customers.
“This is a crucially mandatory STS upgrade designed to ensure uninterrupted vending service,” parts of the statement read.
The company reassured customers of its commitment to ensuring a smooth upgrade process and encouraged them to reach out for assistance if needed.
“For your convenience and the immediate upgrade of your Nuri Prepayment meters, please call our call centre on 0302 611611 or contact us via our social media platforms (ECGghOfficial) for expedited action”.
The STS upgrade is a key initiative in ECG’s drive to modernize its infrastructure and improve service delivery. By upgrading customers’ meters to align with the latest vending protocols, the process aims to simplify electricity payments and minimize service disruptions.
ECG has urged customers to adhere to the advisory and cooperate to ensure the success of the exercise.
