The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has launched a major initiative to reduce commercial losses through a comprehensive system audit.

In a press statement, ECG cited by Happyghana.com they will disconnect all unauthorized services and remove fake meters to ensure the integrity and reliability of the power supply system.

Affected customers will have their supply regularized once they apply for new service at ECG district offices. The company urges customers to avoid using middlemen, commonly known as “goro boys,” and instead apply directly at the district offices.

They highlighted that this exercise aims to enhance the reliability and integrity of Ghana’s power supply system, reducing losses and promoting accountability. ECG prioritizes customer convenience, quality service and revenue protection through this initiative.
