The Electoral Commission of Ghana has urged Ghanaians to maintain peace they have exercised through the voting process from Monday, December 7th.

In a statement on Tuesday December 8, the EC said, “We urge all to maintain and be law-abiding as we await the declaration of the election results.”

The EC is the official mandated body to declare the presidential election result, however, the NDC has this morning projected themselves the winner of the 2020 poll whiles the NPP also says they are leading the poll with about 90% of votes they have collated so far.

Prior to the elections, the EC said barring any impediment, it is determined to declare results 24 hours after polls.

12 candidates are on the ballots seeking to be elected as President of Ghana.
They are; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (NPP), John Dramani Mahama (NDC), Christian Kwabena Andrews (GUM), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet (CPP), Akua Donkor (GFP), Henry Herbert Lartey (GCPP), Hassan Ayariga (APC), Percival Kofi Akpaloo (LPG), David Asibi Ayindenaba Apasera (PNC), Brigitte Akosua Dzogbenuku (PPP), Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (NDP) and Alfred Kwame Asiedu Walker (Independent Candidate).
