The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has suspended an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting that was scheduled for today, December 24, 2024.
The meeting was intended to engage political parties on pressing electoral issues.
The meeting, which was expected to include two representatives from each political party, was prompted by widespread concerns over delays in electoral processes and irregularities, particularly related to the parliamentary elections.
Reasons for the meeting’s suspension have not yet been disclosed.
Despite the suspension, the EC is set to address the press today at its corporate headquarters. This press briefing will provide an opportunity for the media to engage the Commission on post-election developments and unresolved issues arising from the 2024 parliamentary elections.
