EC hires over 200 professionals to assist in results collation

The Electoral Commission (EC) has pledged to deliver an error-free electoral process to maintain public trust and uphold democratic values.

To boost operational efficiency, the EC has recruited over 200 professionals skilled in mathematics, statistics, and related quantitative areas. This strategic move is intended to enhance the credibility and accuracy of election results.

In a media interview on Tuesday, November 5, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Chairperson, outlined the Commission’s preparations, highlighting the importance of transparency and accuracy in the upcoming elections.

Dr. Asare emphasized the EC’s commitment to avoiding any errors, large or small, that could undermine public confidence. He noted that the newly recruited specialists bring strong analytical skills to ensure accurate data collation, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis, all crucial for a reliable and trustworthy electoral process.

“The Commission has already recruited over 280,000 individuals who are going to work on this election. We have also recruited people who are going to help with the collation”.

“These are people who have a background in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics and will be assisting with quantitative methods. So they are going to assist the returning officers at the constituency level” he said.
