East Legon Accident: John Dumelo advocates for speed ramps on East legon stretch and other community roads

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo is advocating for the construction of speed ramps on the East Legon stretch following the tragic accident that claimed two lives on October 12, 2024.

The accident happened when a popular Ghanaian Pastor, Salifu Amoako’s son, driving a Jaguar SUV rammed into a vehicle, resulting in the deaths of Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Boateng. Dumelo made this plea after attending the final funeral rites of Justine Agbenu at Christ the King Church, Accra on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Dumelo emphasized that while most roads in East Legon have speed ramps to control the specific stretch where the accident occurred lacks this safety feature. He believes that constructing speed ramps on this stretch and other community roads will help regulate driver speed and reduce accidents.

The aspiring MP suggested a speed limit of 30-50 km/h for drivers using this route to prevent similar tragedies. Dumelo’s call to action aims to promote road safety and prevent unnecessary loss of life.
