Drivers threaten to boycott elections over poor road network

2020 is the “Year of Roads” – Ken Ofori-Atta

Drivers plying the Afienya to Dodowa roads in the Shai Osudoku district have threatened to boycott the upcoming elections over the bad nature of their road network.

According to the drivers, the government has refused to give them their share of the national cake by providing a better road network in the area.

People described the bad nature of the road as streams of dams especially during the raining season which makes movement difficult especially at night.

They revealed how they always have to visit the mechanics every time they ply the road.

“We always visit the mechanic anytime we use the road because our vehicles breakdown. We are urging our authorities to fix the roads for us. The raining season is approaching and the potholes on the roads are likely to cause an accident” a driver said

Meanwhile Assemblyman for the area Hon. Richard Adzah revealed the previous government started work on some stretch of the road but stopped for unknown reasons.

He bemoaned how the dust from the road is a threat to the lives of residents living around and passengers on board.

Hon. Adzah has appealed to the government to fix the roads.
