Heavy rains in Accra on Tuesday evening, March 25, 2025 caused significant disruptions, including an incident at the Kotobabi Police Station junction where a large tree fell on a moving car.
The car, with registration number DV 5886 W, was severely damaged, and the driver sustained a hand injury.
Passersby and citizens worked together to rescue the trapped driver, who was later taken to the Police Hospital for medical attention.
The storm also caused damage to nearby shops and blocked the road connecting Newtown to Pigfarm, forcing commuters to find alternative routes.
Additionally, other areas in Accra experienced similar challenges, with uprooted trees and property damage.
