Israeli club FC Ashdod have signed Leonard Owusu from Dreams FC in a four-year deal, both clubs have officially announced.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a fantastic season in the Ghana Premier League with the Dawu-based club, helping them to finish in the top-half of the log after the first round.
Although, government has suspended all football related activities in the country due to corruption, it was still possible to complete the transfer since the Israeli FA have within their powers to issue the youngster an interim ITC until the original one arrives.
“I am pleased and excited to come to Israel and Ashdod,” Owusu told the club’s website.
“I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and from the very first moment I felt the warm attitude of the people here.
“I’m waiting to meet my new friends and start my training in the hope of a good and successful season,” he added.
Owusu scored three goals and provided four assists in the league for Dreams FC.
