Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Kudjo Fianoo has indicated that the Leopards of DR Congo will offer Ghana a stiffer challenge in their AFCON quarter-final clash on Sunday than Morocco.
Despite Ghana losing to Egypt on Wednesday, a section of Ghanaians are elated because it affords the team the opportunity of avoiding Herve Renard’s tactically astute Morocco but Fianoo disagrees and tells Happy FM that DR Congo is playing extremely well at this tournament and the players are very physical in their play.
“It was my wish that we met Morocco instead of DR Congo because the Congolese will offer us a much more stiffer opposition due to how well they have played in this tournament. Aside their good play, they are also a very physical side and may tend to bully us with their size. People will also say that avoiding Morocco was the best deal for us but I wish to differ on this view because DR Congo is the real deal in this tournament.” Mr. Fianoo told Happy FM.
