The Chief Executive Officer for Educate Africa Institute, William Boadi has described Dr. Bawumia’s proposal on Education as nothing but deception.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Leader and flag bearer of the New Partriotic Party is proposing an expansion of educational opportunities. Speaking at the party’s Manifesto launch last Saturday in Takoradi, Dr. Bawumia promised to increase the stock of students accommodations in public universities and tertiary institutions to address housing challenges on campuses and make them affordable.
He added, that there are plans to introduce free tertiary Education scholarships for people with disabilities (PWDs) to remove financial barriers to pursuing educational goals. Other plans include the integration of a scholarship database across all public sector institutions, expansion of eligibility for the student loan scheme to include all post-secondary students including certificate and diploma programs, recruitment of more teachers at all levels with improved conditions of service.
However, Educate Africa Institute believes these proposals cannot be achieved.
In an interview with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9 FM’s Morning Show, William Boadi said Dr Bawumia is currently the Vice President of this nation and should be able to implement these policies now.
