Don’t produce beats for free – DopeNation

Dynamic music duo, DopeNation, has urged producers not to produce beats for free.

The new Lynx Entertainment signees -made up of twin brothers Micheal Boafo and Tony Boafo- told Happy FM’s DJ Adviser that “It is a mistake to produce beats someone and not take money. That is what producers in Ghana do and it must stop.”

DJ Adviser asked why it is a mistake and Micheal said, “It is a give and take thing. As a producer, if you finish mixing and mastering a song and you decide to do it as a favor for an artiste, it makes you look useless. I am saying this the hard way because as a producer you toil to learn how to produce and bring out good music”.

“No one wants to see you broke and walking around whiles you have produced a hit song and the artiste is making money and playing shows,” he added.

The ‘Eissh’ hit makers went on to advise producers on how to sell themselves.

“Get a CV, get a professional profile of yourself, run interviews, put your contact out there and also put out your work on social media to let people know that you are the one behind it, ” they advised.

DopeNation is currently promoting their new single dubbed ‘Zanku’.
