Former New Edubiase FC player, Fuseini Nuhu has advised footballers to always prioritize money over fame while actively playing.
According to him, footballers particularly those in Africa often end their careers broke and have to resort to soliciting funds for their daily upkeep because they didn’t focus on making money.
He told Ohene Bampoe-Brenya in an interview that the people who advise footballers to choose fame over money are rich themselves or are often benefiting financially while the player is busily chasing fame.
“The first lesson I learned is that don’t let nobody deceive you as a footballer that fame is better than money. It’s never true because those telling you that want the money and that’s what they will get while you chase fame.”
“African footballers suffer a lot so as a footballer, never joke with your money because the least mistake you do, you will suffer after retirement and the same people will tell you that you didn’t manage your finances well”.
