Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Outtara, has reacted angrily to the claim that they gifted a very cheap win to rivals Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League Super Clash.
Hearts of Oak on Sunday, December 15, 2024, suffered a late defeat to Asante Kotoko through Albert Amoah’s 95th minute winner at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Aboubakar Outtara at the post match conference was angry after a reporter suggested that they gave the game away to Kotoko, stating that he is not father Christmas to be dashing points to their rivals Asante Kotoko.
“When you look at my face, do you think I am Father Christmas to give gifts to somebody? Somebody made the effort to win the match.”
“Don’t discredit that win; he made the effort to win. It is not a gift to Kotoko. I am not Father Christmas. We just lost the match,” he told reporters.
Kotoko’s victory now takes them to the 6th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 21 points while Hearts of Oak move to the 7th position.
