Deputy Ministerial Appointments: Meet first-timers

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his 2nd term of office has appointed 29 young, ready to learn and first-time Deputy Ministers.

Some of these first-time deputies served in various capacities as heads of institutions and CEOs in the president’s 1st term with some making history by winning constituencies which have been regarded as opposition strongholds for years.

Deputy Ministerial Appointments: Meet first timers

The President on Wednesday April 21, 2020 officially released a list of 39 nominees for deputy ministerial position. Out of the number, about 29 of the nominees are 1st time deputies.

The list has been presented to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, for vetting and approval.

Below are the names of these 1st-time deputies with their ministries.

  1. Finance – John Kumah
  2. Trade – Herbert Krapa and Michael Okyere Baafi
  3. Energy- Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer, Mohammed Amin Anta and William Owuraku Aidoo
  4. Education – Rev John Ntim Fordjour
  5. Attorney General: Dinah Asonaba Dapaah and Alfred Tuah Yeboah
  6. Gender- Lariba Zuweira Abudu
  7. Interior – Nana Eyiah
  8. Youth & Sports- Evans Opoku Bobie
  9. Defence- Amankwah Manu
  10. Railways- Kwaku Asante Boateng
  11. Employment- Bright Wereko Brobbey
  12. Fisheries- Moses Anim
  13. Roads & Highways – Mavis Nkansah Boadu and Stephen Jalulah
  14. Communication – Ama Pomaa Boateng and Richard Ahiagbah
  15. Lands & Forestry – Benito Owusu-Bio and Mireku Duker
  16. Foreign Affairs – Thomas Mbomba
  17. Food and Agriculture- Yaw Frimpong Addo and Hardi Tuferu
  18. Transport – Hassan Tampuli and Frederick Obeng Adom
  19. Local Government – Collins Ntim
  20. Information- Fati Abubakar
