The Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Mrs. Asher Ayisi, has advocated the teaching of cultural values to improve our livelihood.
The Deputy Minister expressed her heartfelt love for the Ghanaian culture and the need for Ghanaians to go back to it.
Speaking on e. TV Ghana’s ‘Live Chat with Paul’ show, Mrs. Asher Ayisi stated that the movie industry is collapsing because we do not appreciate our own.
“I feel very proud when I am speaking Fante because it is our local dialect. We are Ghanaians and we need to project our culture through our movies. How many of us speak the local languages? Many of those in the Kumawood are looked down upon because they are branded as too local,” she added.
Mrs. Asher Ayisi passionately stated that we need to teach our children to love our culture, our languages, our way of dressing and our food.
