The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has issued a stark warning, declaring that Ghana’s current state is highly perilous poses a grave danger to its citizens.

During the party’s press conference at the Ghana International Press Centre today, Chairman of the PPP, Nana Ofori Owusu highlighted alarming trends under the current administration.

He emphasized the growing influence of party affiliation in crucial sectors like the security services, state employment and contracting.

According to the PPP, the criteria for recruitment or awarding contracts now include holding a party card or having connections within the ruling party leadership.

“Under this administration, one must hold a party card or know someone in leadership position in the ruling party in order to be recruited into the security services or receve a job/contract from the state,” he stated.

The PPP expressed deep concern over the implications of such practices, particularly in the security services.

PPP warned that when those tasked with safeguarding the nation prioritize political allegiance over impartiality and professionalism, the very fabric of the nation is threatened.

“When those who are to protect all of us believe that they must listen to some master’s voice without regard to the facts and realities, then the state of the nation can be described as being a dangerous one.”

Nana Ofori Owusu further urged Ghanaians to take heed and demand accountability from those in power.
