The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison has declared her intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
She announced her decision during a meeting with constituents, stating that her campaign is focused on the development of Agona and not about the NDC or NPP.
“I don’t care whether you vote for former President John Dramani Mahama or Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia what matters most is that you vote for me so I can continue the work I began,” she said.
Her decision comes after losing the NPP parliamentary primary on April 13, where she received 152 votes compared to Christopher Arthur’s 240 votes. Arthur secured the nomination as the NPP candidate.
She is now seeking support from her constituents for her independent bid, highlighting her commitment to the development of Agona West.
