The Ministry of Interior has renewed the curfew hours for Chereponi Township and surrounding areas in the North East Region, now set from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., effective, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 as per an executive instrument.
The announcement was made in a press release signed by the Minister of the Interior, Henry Quartey.
The government has urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges, confronting them.
The people have also been encouraged to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon.
Any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
