AshantiGold FC played out a 1-1 draw game in their second fixture of the 2021-2022 Ghana Premier League against Karela United on Saturday November, 5 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium
Coach Ernest Thompson Quartey, believes certain factors contributed to his team’s results. He highlighted the Covid-19 vaccination had a toll on his players in their weekend encounter.

Speaking to Joe Debrah on Happy98.9 FM’s Wamputu Sports, he stated, “We were determined to grab out first home win this season, unfortunately for us we got a point from the game due to some reasons. We are not taking anything away from Karela, but the period at which we took the Covid jab put us at a disadvantage. We struggled to keep up to the tempo of the game because we didn’t get enough rest to recover after the vaccination.
However, Coach Ernest Thompson believes his charges displayed a good performance to jeep their hope for top four alive.
Up next for AshantiGold in the league will be a gritty test against a vibrant King Faisal side.
