Gov't declare April 2 and 5 as public holidays

President Akufo-Addo has said that for Ghana’s economy to bounce back, the citizenry must first be healthy.

The President, while delivering the State of the Nation Address in Parliament today said “Ghana has since received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and the target is to vaccinate about 20 million people. If we are to see the rebirth of our economy, our people must be healthy and not succumb to COVID-19. The vaccination campaign is currently ongoing. I urge members of the house to assist in the educational campaign currently ongoing.”

He added that The government is collaborating with the private sector to establish 14 medical waste management facilities across the country to assist.

The SONA platform is to allow the President to give an overview of his plans for his second term in office.

This is in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution which mandates the President to address Parliament at the beginning of each session of a new House and before the dissolution of the same.
