The Chief Executive Officer for Techiman Eleven Wonders, Albert Commey says government should ease restrictions to allow football to continue amid the pandemic.
Football which has been categorized under non-contact sport has been suspended by the government due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Albert Commey, government after easing restrictions and allowing other social entities to operate by adhering to the protocols should also consider football if they have been able to organize their Parliamentary primaries where the safety protocols were thrown to the dogs.
Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy 98.9FM, he said, “On Saturday, I was following the NPP primaries and I realized they threw all the protocols of the COVID-19 to the dogs. I asked myself if they didn’t anticipate if this will happen. If they did then what are they telling us the football people.
“You will even get some people who are opposing football people from benefitting from the stimulus package.
“Football really helps a lot in this country and they should leave us to play our football”, he added.
Government has suspended sporting activities until July 31 due to coronavirus outbreak
