COVID-19: GFA has not been proactive- Micky Charles

President of Techiman City Football Club, Charles Kwadwo Ntim, popularly known as ‘Micky Charles’ says the Kurt Okraku-led administration have not been proactive amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Micky Charles, football clubs have been left to their fate during the pandemic with clubs facing financial difficulties.

The outspoken football administrator who was speaking in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya said, “From where I am sitting I don’t think we have a Football Association.

“The GFA has not been proactive. Since our last virtual meeting which they presented us with that legacy debt, we haven’t heard from them.

“Even sanitizers that were brought to the GFA is still with them. We as the association members are not privy to any information and we get to hear everything in the media”.

He stated that Executive Council members Randy Abbey and George Amoako with their experience should be pushing the agenda of clubs and not be sitting idle on the Council.

“We as association members are expecting the FA to engage us so we jaw-jaw. I was expecting Randy Abbey and George Amoako to be proactive because they have been in the system for long.

“Now we are in a dilemma and don’t even know when football will return. Even if the ban is lifted we don’t know whether the league will continue to be truncated.

“Every serious organization plans and I don’t know the direction of this FA”, he added.
