In a thrilling opening group game of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Ampem Darkoa orchestrated a remarkable 2-1 comeback win against AS Far.
The game kicked off with AS Far taking an early lead, courtesy, Najat Badri, who capitalized on a defensive error to put the ball in the net, setting the stage for the first goal.
Coach Nana Adarkwa’s determined squad, led by Comfort Yeboah, mounted an impressive comeback. Yeboah unleashed a powerful strike to level the score, and later, her cross from the right wing took an unexpected deflection into the net, resulting in an own goal that clinched the victory for Ampem Darkoa.
Prior to this clash, AS Far had never conceded a goal in the opening match of the group stage in this competition.
