The Executive Director for Center for Climate and sustainability Empowerment (CCSE), Hussein Kassim has encouraged Ghanaians to plant more trees to migrate the impact of climate change.

According to him, the planting of more trees in the environment will absorb carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to reduce the poisonous substance in our environment that will have negative impact on our health.

Speaking to Happy Kasiebo during Climate change procession by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the auspices of Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and innovation as part of the activities to create awareness about the need to protect our environment, the executive director urged Ghanaians to plant at least one tree in their homes or offices to mitigate climate change.

He also said that numerous measures are there to mitigate the impact of climate change but the most important thing is for Ghanaians to adopt the habit of planting more trees.

He added that, the masses should join public transport and park their cars to reduce carbon emissions released into the atmosphere.

“The emissions from vehicles also have impact on climate change so the lesser the cars on our roads, the lesser the emissions released into the atmosphere”.
