The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has alleged that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Chris Hughton as the new technical head for the Black Stars.
According to him, the GFA should quit stalling the process and name Chris Hudgton as the successor of Otto Addo following the latter’s resignation from the role after the Black Stars exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
A new Black Stars coach’s appointment has however been hinted at by Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, recently indicating that a new gaffer will be named soon since Otto Addo left immediately after Ghana’s exit in Qatar.
In an interview on Joy Prime, Sam George said,
“They have given the Job to Chris Hughton already so why are we wasting our time?”
“They have given it to him because they want someone they can manipulate, someone they can use to do their business, someone they can tell him to bring his team selection [with changes being made with regards to agency call ups regardless of how long the person has played or not played”.
“People are using GFA to make money, they are using it to feed their family.”
“Tell me how Baba Rahman found his way to the last squad at the final game against Uruguay at the World Cup.
“What ball did he play? What ball had he played? Is Baba Rahman’s agent not our GFA president?” he questioned.
Meanwhile, The Ghana FA is yet to announce a new coach after receiving over 1000 applicants as confirmed by the GFA Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum.
